Hopefully this first video inspires you. I wanted it to show you really can do anything once you put your mind to it, no matter what age or skill level you are.

Preparing the hair is key, layering the products in the correct way as well as ensuring the hair is the correct dryness are all aspects which will effect the finish and hold of your blowdry. The method of sectioning shown in this video is one which I believe is the simplest aswell as the fastest and most effective way to achieve silky, isolated curls. These are the best for a good picture too! Your lines don't have to be dead straight just keep them neat! This is very important

One of the most important aspects of the blowdry is smoothing. You always want to make sure that the hair is not frizzy whatsoever as your client will be dissatisfied. To achieve a sleek and smooth look you can use a range of products to help you! Some products are designed for hair types which are harder to smooth such as the Color WOW Dream Coat for curly hair or the Kenra Professional Platinum Blow Dry Spray.

If your client requests volume... this is key! The more root, lift the bigger and more voluminous the blowdry!

Mastering the curl creating technique is the most important out of the 3. This is commonly the no 1 reason clients come to you! To create a curl like no other! Don't worry if your first isn't perfect, on average you will have to repeat this at least 10 times per blowdry so watch your curls improve as you go! Practice and practice this, the more blowdrys you do the better and more snatched your curls will be.

When removing your brushes do it very carefully. You are likely to come across some tangles as its your first. Take it very slowly , remove any caught hairs one by one (literally hair by hair).

The one thing that I insist THE MOST is getting your client to leave with pincurls in their hair. They can then preserve their blowdry for however long they need to before they go out. Pincurls protect from rain, wind and wear damage. Neat and tight pincurls are the best however these take lots of practice. For a faster practice of pincurls, curl hair with a wand/tong in the same sections you would blowdry. Pin as you go, if one is not flat or tight enough do it again.

Use this information to either use yourself if the client wants it immediately dressed out OR tell this to your clients for when they take their pincurls out just before they go out!
